Viper SmartStart headlights stay on after remote start is off

I got my Viper SmartStart installed today and I noticed that when the remote start goes off, my headlights stay on. Why is this? How do I fix it?

You got it installed today take it back to the installer... unless its a setting you can change. If you have the nav/color? screen you can set the headlight to cut off immediately/30 seconds/or 1 minute after you turn it off.

If it stays on forever than that's a problem. You can check out the viper manual but that sounds like something you would never want to allow-something that should not be happening. Might have no choice but to take it back to the installer.

Are you remote starting the car and then turning it right off without getting into the car?

sounds like something wrong with the viper install possibly. i know depending on what bypass module i was running it seems like some will run the headlights while the remote start is on, and some won't. something must be up with the install and its keeping the lights on when it shouldnt.

If you have your lights in the auto position turn them to the off position. I had the same problem...

My Silverado has auto lights and the switch stays on auto but the lights go off. I called the shop and they said it shouldn't be happening. Going in after work today to have them take a look. I don't think I should lose my auto lights function for a remote start..

Check the install...it will kill your battery...the car should be in ACC mode only where no headlights should be on. The only thing that comes on besides the engine and the parking lights for safety is the center console. Looks like the installer connected a wrong wire somewhere have him go back a recheck. I'll
Post a video of what my car does shortly.
