I have a '97 Maxima GXE and I am looking for side window deflectors that fit into the window channel. What I've seen are tape-ons that mount on the door paintjob. Does anybody know who makes these deflectors that mount inside the window track? Your help is appreciated.

I have the GTS brand ventguards and I know that they tape onto the window molding and not the paint of the door.

 

do you really like how that stuff looks??? i woodnt do it, but if u really want them..... u can pick up a set from strauss or sumthing like that GTS is a very popular brand

I bought mine from MacNeil Industries. Weathertech Weatherflectors. They meet stiff German Automotive standards, and they fit inside the groove with the weather stripping. I have them on all four doors and they go well with the wind deflector of the sunroof.

The rear ones fit better for me on the outside of the rubber weatherstrip, but the fronts fit as the describe in the instructions.

They also make other things like nice floor mats and cargo liners.
I first saw them advertised in the back of Road and Track Magazine.

Do you have any pics of these? I currently have the ones that attach on the outside, and am completely happy with them, but if anything ever happens, I'd definitely be interested in a set of those!

 

Yeah! Side wind deflectors! Those are so cool!! Just don't forget all the other awesome accessories you will need to compliment them: a stylish bra, a gnarely wind deflector for the hood, a b1tchin wind deflector for the sunroof, some really sweet mud flaps and last but not least, some groovy curb feelers!!!!

 

Actually, None of that other crap interests me in the least.

The wind deflectors are very practical and keep water from dripping into the car when it is raining since Nissan and most other auto makers deleted the rain gutters to be effective in the wind tunnel to meet CAFE standards for their fleet of cars.

This helps to slow my car down since otherwise it is way too fast!

Thanks, White96MaxSE, for the tip regarding window deflectors. I bought them from Mac Neil and got them a week later. It took me about 15 minutes to put all four of them in. The color of the vents is a light tan transparent color. They look like
sunshades. They really compliment my Champaign beige paint job. Most people don't even notice them against the tinted windows. They really do a great job circulating the air in the car. And, in agreement to your response to ptatohed, they do seem to slow down the car a tad, but just a tisch...
