looking to paint y-pipe, is there a write-up???

i looked at the can of exhaust paint, ( header paint that goes to 2000 degrees) and it says you have to bake it on??

it aint going to fit in my oven , and i don't think i want my mechanic driving her around "baking on the paint" and he would'nt do it anyway. so, how do you do it with a y-pipe??

it's not installed yet and i wanted to put 2-3 coats on it to really protect against these crappy north east winters. also, i wasn't sure which brand to go with, i figured they're all the same when it comes to exhaust paint? thanks

The exhaust heat will cure it.
No oven needed.

the oven thing is a joke, ( duh ) but it says on the can to run it to 400 degrees, then turn off, paint again and run to 700 degrees, cool off. how the heck do you do that? i don't have a lift, so i'm guessing they think i do??

Why didn't you do a search before attempting this project?

Just let it cure once it's on the car. That's about all you can do.

VHT flame proof paint? There's curing instructions written on the can for both on the vehicle and off the vehicle curing.

Couldn't you use the same caliper paint? I am pretty sure those things get up to those temps.. Last summer I painted mine with rustoleum ruse reformer about three times but didn't install yet as I am contemplating doing one coat of caliper paint.
