Smart phone mount?

Has anybody used a smart phone mount in their 7th gen that they like? I don't want one that uses a suction cup on the windshield and I don't think a suction cup would work on the dash due to the texture. I have seen one type that uses adhesive strip to mount and I though I could mount it between the radio and HVAC controls and I have also seen some that use the CD slot to mount in.

Just wondering if anyone has used one that works really good they could recommend?

I've been looking for something that is on some type of hindge that will swing in and out. I like the Cd mount but that blocks the radio and heating and a/c controls.. It would be nice to see if there something out there that will work with our max

Well I ordered one to try. Reading the reviews of this one and the older version that has over 6k reviews on Amazon I would NOT recommend mounting on the dash itself, as the reviews say it tends to damage soft dash surfaces. However I am going to mount it on the hard surface above the amber screen and see how it works.

The CD mount can be swiveled to accommodate landscape or portrait in an "upside-down" orientation so it will not block your climate controls. It also protrudes forward, depending on which mount you purchase, so you can easily slip your hand behind it.

Take some pictures, please! I am also looking for a mount. I was initially looking at a CD-player mount (I used a Mountek nGroove Grip Universal CD Slot Mount) as I have bought one for my previous car and it works great. It doesn't vibrate, bounce, or shake around after you have tightened it. The product is advertised as being able to hand tighten it so you can swivel it around, but after you tighten it with a flat-head screwdriver on the back it is very sturdy. The only issue is that the teeth to tighten it into the slot will push up the soft mesh in the slot making it exposed to dust on the inside of the player. This is why I have not installed it on the Maxima.

I actually have this mount in the larger size. It will stick to pretty much any surface in the car. But you shouldnt mount it on the main dash as you guys say because the suction will leave a buble imprint. It will stick on without falling off for a few months. I have it mounted on the screen bezel sometimes I mount in on the cup holder cover.. Its a good mount with the it is like a full motion viewing mount I can set the screen to many/any? angle.

A solution to that would be 3M double-sided tape; the thick industrial ones, not the consumer grades you find in the stores unfortunately. On the other side of the tape, you can attach a plastic circular base for the suction cup to grab onto. Or, you can use 3M velcro and use the same technique above with a plastic circular base. It's reversible and should not damage sensitive surfaces.

Its actually better in its current location than on the dashboard for a few reasons....
1) less sun light hits the screen
2) the screen is closer and easier to see.
3) blocks the windshield viewing area less
4) easy to access
That bezel is a separate part should be cheap/easy to replace since its the same part used in all SV/S models. Not worth the trouble to add a 3M base.

Yeah I got mine and put it on the bezel as well. It works fine, but it vibrates too much for my liking. I would like to find one that was sturdier.

You have to tighten all of the ***** and as long as your phone fits tight there will be no vibration.

I bought this from Amazon:
Amazon.com: Mountek nGroove Universal CD Slot Mount for Cell Phones and GPS Devices: MP3 Players & Accessories Amazon.com: Mountek nGroove Universal CD Slot Mount for Cell Phones and GPS Devices: MP3 Players & Accessories

I love it and have had zero problems in over a year. I don't use my CD player so this holder is perfect.
