hey guys, ok now my maxima dont have a cel light on even if i turn on the key.
before i change out the motor wiring harness and the driver side wiring harness. i put the engine back in and i don't see a check engine light lid up at all.. any suggestion on what i should check out next.. im pretty much stuck at this time. the car does crank but never turn on. letting you guys know my car is a 95 and i
am using the 97 nissan maxima harness. the motor is also a 97 and so is the ECU.

all the light bulb are new. i even try changing out the ecu and still no cel light. not sure if the ecu needs grounding or what. i just lay it under the dash.
my car was running and the cel is on when i did the swap. i also rebuilt the motor with new seal and redo the timing on it since the motor was out of the car.
basically i bought a 97 max with no title and swap it into my 95 max. the guy that had the 97 max said that it was a running car, he just dont have a title for it. now when i crank to the car it does a loud poping backfire. but yet no cel light.

 

Check the bulb.

Ok. Did your CEL work before you swapped in the 97 motor, harness etc?

 

If you ask me cel's are over rated anyway!
