Punk kid in a late 90's GT Mustang

Pulled up to a stoplight yesterday, on an on-ramp leading to the interstate. One of those that starts out as a two lane and changes to 1 lane to merge. I pulled up in the lane that ends next to this decent looking late 90's GT Mustang. It was a gorgeous day so my windows were down. The kid looks at me and says "You don't think you are going to merge in front of me, do you?" I replied that as a matter of fact, I was. He started laughing and revving his engine, which sounded pretty nice actually. I have the Takeda intake that makes the car loud and mean sounding, but not wanting to give anything away I just let him rev and make snide remarks.

As soon as the light turned green I was 8 lengths in front, then I let off the gas and turned my blinker on and merged over.

Editing the post to eliminate any confusion with "street racing" or anything that would be against the law in most states "speeding" or references to "reckless driving"

Seriously? LOL you cut too much, there is nothing illegal about references to engine noises, priceless faces or pushing the gas pedal. There was no reference to reckless driving, not sure what you are getting at there. I was simply giving myself room to merge.

Actually I got that name when I was a cop, I kinda resemble the old wrestler Big Bossman. I had to body slam a guy that was resisting arrest and in front of about 10 other cops he said "Who do you think you are, the Big Bossman?" It just stuck ever since.

Haha that's awesome, keep revving that engine and pushing the pedal....just no street racing, lol

Yep, I've always said it's not the car that makes the driver...rather it's the driver makes the car.

A mechanical decision of who was gonna merge in first via the gas pedal.....

You actually get a ticket for excess of acceleration even if you're going under the speed limit like 40 or 60 lol

Trust me I'm on ticket 93 since I started driving haha

Cool story

Depending on the law, most places would likely just use drag racing instead. Which can be a nasty fine depending on where you are too.

But, I was just following the unwritten rule that you can't merge behind someone, only in front. At least it seems everyone thinks that is a rule. :P

I don't know if I'd consider that a WIN but glad you walked away from it.

It was back in 2008. Moral of the story...was it worth it in the first place? Nope.
