1996 nissan bose stereo

Hi, i have a 1996 nissan maxima , it has a bose stereo in it , model # pn-2083d , I purchased a model pn-2261d 1998 year , it plugs on the back are the same , but when i plug it in there is no audio , is the wiring the same or did i buy a bad stereo , the original one the face plate wouldnt light up and cd wont work , but playes radio fine .Thanks Gary

The wiring is the same. It appears that you got a bad head unit.

It is possible that you could have blown a fuse. Check a 15 amp fuse, # 22. It is in the center column of fuses, 5 down from the top.

Hi , I can plug in the old unit and it will play , It must be a bad unit.
