So I have been thinking about pulling the trigger on the Platinum and none of the dealerships in my area had the the Deep Blue Pearl color or the options I wanted...All they had was the white pearl or black. I haven't seen a single Maxima on the road here in upstate new york either...not one. Finally searched online within a 250 mile radius and found one...3hrs away at Formula Nissan in Barre, Vermont....Could have had it transferred but I spent nearly 2 weeks talking and negotiating the car and my trade, and decided to deal directly with them myself. So check this out...Now again I haven't seen ANY Maximas on the road yet...while I'm driving to VT to pick this thing up, I see up ahead this blur...I see some strange car coming at me in the far distance, and it's got some really distinct DRLs...and I kept saying what the hell is that?!? And then SRRoom...I said holy $#&@! It's a Maxima...It was a silver one and looked HOT! Thought to myself...must be a sign...Did I pick a good day to buy the car?? I THINK SO! And let me say...the looks I got too driving back...
I will say dealers ARE willing to negotiate...make sure you absolutely leverage Truecar. I sent the internet sales guy the Truecar numbers and he actually beat the price. If you're in New England (or upstate NY, like me) these guys are willing to deal. Here's are the options I have and the price I paid.
Test drove a blue platinum. What a sporty car these are, super impressed with the sports car feel, but its a slight bit uncomfortable to feel lower to the ground, headroom is noticeably different and it feels harder to see out of. But, its the most 4 door sports car I've ever seen in a FWD sedan with 4 doors. its impressive.
on a side note, dealer did not want to deal off MSRP.

Definitely need to venture out and check out other dealers. I had the same issue, my local dealers didn't want to negotiate...told them what I was looking for and they didn't even try to find me one. One dealer said they would give me $9000 for my car when KBB had it for nearly $12k, I walked out....and then found myself driving 3hrs to find my car.
going to follow forum member lightonthehill advice and just do email for prices to find out before I drive all over.
Good advice. Know, however that many will insist that you go see them, I found them are very reluctant to send an offer you could use in negotiations with other dealers.

Yeah you're right. Funny in 2008 when I bought a car nearly every dealer I emailed sent me actual numbers. Something must have changed since then.
