14 sport tech 19s . More curious about size and after rsa comparison

Hello all,

I have a 14 max sport tech on the 245 19s. I don't want to start a crazy tire thread about the good year rsa but this tire is simply not for me. I know 19s will never ride great but my 03 altima lowered on teins with conti 18s didn't ride as sensitive and loud as these rsa tires. They just seem loud and stiff even aired down to 30/31.

That said, after only 6k miles I'm going to put new tires on it as the ohio roads are jarring this car and me to death and making plenty of noise doing it. All my opinion. I am reading a lot of good stuff on the extreme contact dws and some here and there on various Michelin and the pirelli p7. I am looking for best ride and lowest noise. This is my daily.

Q1. Have any of you on 19s gone from the dws to a pirelli or Michelin or vice versa ? If so what was your experience between them?

Q2. I have seen one or two older Gen maximas and maybe one Gen 7 go to a 255/40 r19. Any one in a Gen 7 care to give feedback and pics on going this direction? I haven't seen many threads on this for 09 and up max.

Q3. Anyone have any luck getting the dealer or tire place to do a deal if you complained about the rsa?

Thanks all. I appreciate your time and apologize in advance if I offend any pro rsa folks. Just one guys opinion.

I still have stock 19 tires on my Maxima, and am not real happy with them. I will be changing out to the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S, which are the same tires I put on my Mustang last year. The tires did wonders in smoothing out the ride in my Mustang, while improving handling/braking, I expect they will do similar wonders for the Maxima, and stop the annoying wandering over the lines on the highway. The Michelins also have better wet traction than the stock Maxima tires.

19's

i had kumho ectas on my car i switched them out to hankook ventus v2's still kept the stock size hankook is what my dealership which i work for deals with on a daily basis the conti dws work great too but they dont seems to last long on newer vehicles to many people coming in the switch them for something quiter for winter time i switch to 2554519 pirelli's artic claw and are studded

in my opinion conti pros are good for some not for others i've had success with hankook very little to no noise at all i would think conti's are far in warmer climates

The RSAs are not a great tire. Almost any will be smoother, quieter, and handle better.

I would not go to a 255 on the factory wheel. A 245 is the widest recommended by most manufacturers on the 8" wheel. Going to a 255 will increase sidewall flex and decrease the handling of your car. It may not feel noticeable to you, but the change is there.
