I get the same feeling when I give it lots of gas to speed up quickly.
Has anyone found why it is that it does that?

Haven't had that happen yet. Mine still plants my wife well into her seat and leaves her eyes big as saucers when I press too hard on the pedal.

I seem to recall that these cars 'learn as you go', and gradually adjust how they perform to how the driver generally drives. Maybe you have been 'babying' your beautiful Maxima, but then suddenly decided to rev it up? Does it behave the same in both normal and 'sport' modes? If I was positive the car's behavior had changed, I would find some time to have the dealer check things out. At this point, everything should still be under full warranty.

Very good point. It does this so it can be more efficient and improve mpg. Ive had this happen with both this and my 7th hen. You can always erase the 'learning' by either flooring the accelerator and drive aggressively, meaning floor it a few times between red lights...or, you can disconnect the battery for 10 mins. Try those first, and then report back.
