Fog lights won't turn on

Fog lights won't turn on

I just install fog lights..my maxima came with wiring for them..after install I turned them on and instead the headlights turn on..please help!!

Did you also install a new light stick on the steering column where there is a separate switch just for the fog lights?

The car came with the fog light switch on the light stick..well at least I think so..it has the off setting then auto then on then fog..I recently install HID kit on the car..could that had some thing to do with it?? I also checked the fuse for the fog lights it was good

The light stick has two separate switches that rotate. The one on the end of the stick has four positions, Off, Auto, Parking, Headlight. The inner switch has two positions, Off and Fog.

That is the way the factory wires the switches up.

Sounds like you need the combination switch with the fog light switch on it or get a fog light wiring harness.

It sounds like you do not have the correct switch installed. You only have the regular headlight stalk.
For reference, the switch positions are:
Off
Auto
Parking lights Only
All On
