Purchasing 2014 thru enterprise
Purchasing 2014 thru enterprise
I have zero experience with cars. Looking to make a buy as my 98 maxima died.
Is the car listed here a good deal?https://www.enterprisecarsales.com/car/309903/2014_NISSAN_Maxima_S_Sedan_4D?lpid=37074
I would finance thru my credit union. What questions should I ask? Can I ask for lower price?

IMO, no Nav, no tech package, no pano roof, no leather.. I would HONESTLY goto a dealership look for a Max that is an 13' maybe even a 12 for around the same price if not cheaper fully decked out.
And to top it off it's a Rental car, please know this car was dogged out.
I think we have a member on here selling a Gen 7 for a decent price. I had a friend that worked for that company and he said they don't deal well with the price.. you can give it a try. I would see how much your bank is willing to give you first to purchase the car..
Good luck keep us posted.

I had a 2012 as a rental and I fell in love with the 7th gen. I immediately went out in search of a sport/tech to purchase. I must admit before returning my rental I put it to the test! Lots of WOT launches, hard braking and every other test you would never think about doing to your own car....soooooo I would suggest not buying rentals as I am sure other did the same as me or worse!
I do think that buying from Enterprise could be a good value. They have newer cars that have been maintained. My friend is an Enterprise car salesman and he told me that they only sell their best quality used vehicles. All the cars go through ASE certified mechanic inspection before they sell it and are detailed prior to being sold. It may not be loaded, but it's still a Max. I 'd take a look at it and give it a test drive, but I wouldn't rule it out. I don't need my cars to be "loaded". Besides, the more loaded a car is, the more things that can go wrong with it. Try it out for yourself. Good luck and let us know what you decide.
BUT a max rental is not your base rental ANYWHERE, to get a max rental that is either luxury or a step below and most people who rent a luxury car do not abuse them, sure some do but most abuse are on the cheap basic rentals(impala, ford, focus, etc.) And yes my wife works for enterprise so I do have some back up info.
I just got a white 2014 Maxima S from Hertz, 34K miles. Love it so far.
FYI, 99% of people who talk smack about buying a used rental car have never done it. And they all use the "I drove my rental like crap, therefore everyone else does too" reasoning.
Furthermore, I've rented cars even faster than the Maxima for work (C class, 5 series, etc.) and have never abused them. Most people don't randomly switch driving styles when they get into a pretty decent rental car. But the ones who do assume everyone else does too.
Hertz let me rent the car for 3 days before I had to decide if I was going to buy or not - I had a detailed inspection done at my local Nissan dealership. They gave it a bill of great health. I suggest you do the same, if enterprise lets you drive the car for a few days before making a decision.
