engine shuts off after reachin operateing temp

I am hopen someone had had this issue before and can help me out here. the damm thing fires right up and purrs like a kittin, let er sit or drive either or,once it hits operating temp it shuts off adn wont start again untill it cools down. it aint over heating the temp on thermostat housing is 165 when it does this. just seems that soon as the thermostat starts to crack open a bit it dies. dont have any major engine codes in relation to this issue. the only thing i got is tps out of range and thats because i need to adjust it because the haynes manual is wrong i got the factory service manual and its different. but why would this thing shut off after it warms up? no miss no spitter sputter nothing till it hits that point then it shuts down.

More than likely, it's your Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECTS).

Cheap part, and easy to replace. Search on ECTS and a ton of threads will pop up.

Adjust TPS per FSM

Definitely ECTS (or in my case, the wiring going to the sensor).

My max stalled after warming up before I properly adjusted the TPS several years ago. How are you adjusting it? The TPS resistance (500 ohms), the TPS signal voltage (0.5v), or the TPS switch closed postion with a feeler gauge?

From: IT DOESN'T MATTER WHO CARES!!
When the car reaches the normal temp after it was driven, the car will cutoff the ects sends out the wrong signal to the ecu causing the car to cut out. The ects has to be replaced, once its replaced the car can drive hot or cold as it supposed to.
