Issue starting car

Went out to start car and it would try to turn over but never did. Had a deep gas smell out of exhaust and a lot of smoke/white-ish smoke. Tried this prob 5-7 times and finally it started. Ran the car for about 3-5 min and the smoke never did clear up completely. Shut it off and when I tried to restart, it was fine, started right up. Went out today and it started right up on the first try and didnt notice any smoke out of exhaust.

No dash lights ever came on. 80K miles and never have had an issue with anything on the car. Never been in shop for anything other than regular maintenance.

Any thoughts????

Talked to local Nissan Dealer and they feel it's a bad tank of fuel. Since the computer didn't throw any codes there isn't much to go off of!

Sounds like it worked itself out but doesn't sound like bad gas. My guy told me whenever a shop says "bad guess" it's usually because they have no clue what the real issue is. In 2015 it's really rare to actually get bad gas with all of the extra crap through in gas today. Sounds like a random incident but you may want to google your symptoms and see others have had the same problem.

Also, I'd check your coolant levels and monitor them closely. Our cars seem to have head gasket issues in the earlier years of the 7th gen.

I know oil is usually a blue-ish gas but I would take a look at it and make sure its topped up at the least, maybe time for an oil change.

Your tail pipes will tell you a lot. If they are clean on the inside ( no oil or soot) chances are the engine is in fine shape. Soot (or carbon) can indicate anything from bad gas to fouled plugs or even just a lot of very short trips! If it is oily or greasy then you may be burning oil or have some other engine issue.
