Ds Sport Mode Opinion (2012 Maxima SV Non Sport/Premium Pkg)

I know this has been discussed before many times but my experiences seem to be different. Having driven the car since last September and wishing there was a sport mode I recently just found it while playing with the shifter and using the simulated manual gears, the infamous Ds mode by just moving the stick to the left but not up or down. It seems to simulate an automatic at certain ranges in this mode and certainly allows the engine to seemingly pick up a bit faster than in regular mode and allow for quicker acceleration on the lower end and eliminate the "cvt rubber band effect" which is felt at times and over all gives the car a sportier feeling in my opinion. It truly feels like it picks up quicker on the lower ends and I know many say "D is the most optimal setting" but this just feels quicker when trying to drive fast if you know what i mean. Regular mode obviously much better for regular driving, gas mileage, preserving the transmission, ect., but i truly feel like the ds mode is better at what it says it does, being sporty.

It feels better, but the stop watch says it is slower.
