Engine swap and Transmission question

I have done some searching and am just trying to get some straight info.. I know folks are doing '09 Maxima engines into '02-'03's but what other engine can you drop in without much modification and transmission.. what's a good auto transmission to get...If that's a proper way of asking.. Tranny is acting up I don't know if it is the Solenoids or...?.. A little info much appreciated...

The swap/replacement would be for a '02 Maxima...This is the 5th gen maxima forum is it not..?.. To be even more specific how is a '07 Altima engine install compared to the '09 engine swap/install that Darren has done on his maxima...Are does it just come down to the affordability.. I also stated auto transmission... not looking to do a 6-spd swap at the moment.. Hope this satisfies the info question.... Nmex its been awhile...I see you became a mod after all these years.

Been a mod since before you were registered ... became mod in 2010 IIRC

The only AT you'll get to fit is the 02/3 4AT. You also mentioned your tranny is acting up? How so? Could it be perhaps just the solenoids?

For real details aside from these threads, I'd get a hold of Darren.

Some light info on the 07 Altima engine: https://maxima.org/forums/all-motor/...-0-timing.html
And there's always this little gem: https://maxima.org/forums/all-motor/...it-my-car.html

In short either swap (07 L32 or 09 A35) are about the same price, but the real $$ comes with real tuning, such as the Haltech and taking full advantage of the EVT. If you don;t want the EVT option, might as well just swap over a low mileage DE, use an 07 Alti engine (Darren sells swap kits for that too) and don't use EVT.

Got a brand new set of solenoids for sale in the classified section. Seems to be a common problem with the 5.5 right now.
