Hello everyone, my mechanic has informed that my axle needs to be changed, and with a little luck, I found this on craiglist. Seems to be the right part.

Does anybody know anything about USA industries? Will this part fit?

If not this part, which would you recommend on rock auto?

It is an automatic 2001 maxima.

However, for a number of reasons, I would go with Rockauto rather than Craigslist.
Why? The parts sold by Rockauto have been pre-selected - they have good reputation and very good quality (at least, IMHO). In addition, their prices are hard to beat.
Two years ago, my mechanic replaced my axles with SURTRACK parts. They have been on my car for 2 years and work just fine. However, the left/driver side axle was faulty and was replaced "under warranty" right after the initial installation.
I don't know where he got them. They are sold by Rockauto, but they don't have the "heart" rating indicating a popular (hence, reliable) part. If I were you, I would go with one of their heart-labeled parts such as CARDONE (http://www.cardone.com/Products/Prod...=666192&p=rock) or APWI (http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo....676&cc=1374533).

Oh, and buying from Rockauto would avoid all the scams going on Craigslist.

 

Detroit axle are pretty good, they offer lifetime warranty which is nice, if it breaks again, send it back and you get a new one.

 

Cardone are the way to go. They're rebuilt oem spec axels. They even come with the dampners on the end. The ones you buy elsewhere will not and the car doesn't ride as nice without them.
