1994 Power steering pump a bit of help please

I replaced my lower pressure hose for my power steering pump, when i removed the banjo fitting the valve and spring came out of course when i was not looking. Can someone please tell me in which position does the needle valve go into the pump needle up into the pump then the spring or needle down then the spring .
