Have a 2016 maxima and neither intelligent key is recognizing when I approach the car and touch the door handle buttons to unlock the car's door. Is this a dealer trip or a simple diy fix? The remote buttons operate away from the car, the car starts with either intelligent key and recognized by display in the car.

I've had this happen to me. I guess I'm not alone.

 

Have you made sure that function is turned on in the vehicle settings?

 

Are you pushing the door button or just touching it? You gotta push it.

 

Does not matter whether i touch handle or push button on handle, nothing happens.

Where do i find that vehicle settings? Looked all over settings but could not find it.

On your Vehicle Information Display (between the speedo and tach), Select SETTINGS then VEHICLE SETTINGS then LOCKING. Turn Ext. DOOR SWITCH to ON if it is OFF.
