Nissan extended warranty?
Nissan extended warranty?
Anyone here have any experience with Nissan's extended warranty? Planning to purchase an '18 Maxima soon and hoping to keep for several years. Thought it might be worth investing in this. I know available in different levels/configurations, deductible amounts, length in years, etc. Anyone here have any experience with Nissan's extended warranty? What's approximate cost for (for what T's & C's)? Find it was worth it? Any other specific recommendations/advice on this topic? Much appreciated!
Several experiences and all have been good. The last issue I had was the air conditioner compressor failed three months out of the 72 month warranty but within the 100,000 mile limit. I called Nissan and after several phone calls with the representative and the representative talking to the service manager at my dealer Nissan offered to pick up the labor charge and I would pay for the parts. Really helped out.

i bought my car from a toyota dealership with 72months 100k miles extended warranty. i was able to drop the price from 4k to 2k which is another $25 more a month that will cover me until i pay off my car in 6 years so i wouldnt have to worry about it.
Here is something to remember about the official Nissan Extended warranty. Let's say you purchase the Nissan warranty that is 72 Months/100K miles. The 72 month clock starts ticking the day your car is placed in service. Your car has a 36 month/36K factory warranty, and a 60 month/60K power train warranty.
The 72 is not added to the basic 36. You do not have a warranty for 108 months. Your warranty ends at the end of 72 months or 100K miles, which ever comes first.
Keep that in mind as you contemplate an extended warranty purchase.
I have the Nissan Extended warranty on both our Maximas. I sleep better at night because of them.

If you are the first owner of the car (never been titled), get GEICO insurance and opt in for the mechanical breakdown insurance (name is deceiving) on your policy. It is about $6 month and kicks in after factory warranty expires and covers car bumper to bumper for any issues minus regular wear and tear items. It is a $250 deductible per repair but a heck of a lot cheaper than extended warranties. It is good to 100,000 miles. I verified that it covers everything from nav system to seat motors to powertrain to just about anything in the vehicle minus, like I said normal wear/tear items, i.e. brake pads, tires, windshield wipers, shocks, etc. This is the way I went for my extended warranty. I figure if I pay $6/month for 72 months, that is $432. if I have the car in for 4 repairs under the warranty, that is $1000 for a total of $1432 over 72 months, just as an example. I feel better with this because I only pay if I use it, otherwise, I am only out a few hundred dollars as opposed to a couple of thousand dollars.
