I weighed my car at the strip yesterday.....

It weighed in at 2,955 lbs! I guess not having the moonroof, power seats, leather, and Bose do lighten it up some. That was with a 1/4 tank of gas.

When you add up BOSE, leather, fake wood, fuzzy pillars, pop-out drawers, sun roofs and climate control...no wonder GLEs are so slow.

What mods do you have that let you run as fast as I do with OSCAI only?

The sunroof deflector. It allows for 23 lbs of lift, making my car faster than it would be without it.

Those pop-out drawers are hype, best part about the car! I love playing with it.

In -- Out -- In -- Out -- In -- "Oh look I finally made it up to 60 mph."

I guess you need something to do while you wait for all that extra "luxury" to get up to speed.

Yeah, but for some strange reason, the inside of mine is WAY more comfortable than yours. And last time I checked, you really can't feel .3 seconds in the 1/4 mile difference, so I'll take my sunroof, my pop-out drawer and NON-SHINY pillars and gloat over them while I listen to my 200W Bose CD player in my electronically controlled leather seats.

Wow, an average of a .2 second difference? You can actually feel that? Pretty damn amazing.

I prefer cloth, and mine is electrically adjustable. Plus my stereo sounds much better than BOSE.

And I think fuzzy pillars are just a little pretentious, don't you?

I can't afford to lose the headroom to a sunroof, I mean I'm 5'7" tall for cryin out loud!

I wish my GXE had a sunroof. My poor car left the factory stripped. mzmtg I hope you're joking about not enough headroom foor a sunroof. I'm 5' 10" and have tons of headroom.

Well, as far as the stereo goes, I upgraded mine myself. The new set up sounds quite good, especially for the money. No gain in weight either.

The STOCK Bose system is generally regarded as a VERY good setup. Fuzzy pillars pretentious? I'd rather have them look like the roof than have EVEN more cheap looking vinyl in the car. GXE's are good basic cars, but I'd still take a nicely loaded one anyday.

BTW, I'm 5'9" and still have plenty of headroom with my sunroof.

I think my car is the most stripped down maxima ever made. I have been trying to convince this guy to weigh it on a truck scale at his work but he's a puss and doesn't want to get in trouble. Oh well.

My local track has been being rebuilt for a year and a half now. its supposed to open in may. and the 6 or so other tracks i've been to i havent bothered to weigh it. most of the times the scales are closed.

As a comparison, I weighed my 5th gen 5 speed SE with leather, moonroof, power everyhting, Bose, etc, etc and it came in right at 3200 lb with fumes in the tank and no driver. As soon as there is some gas and driver in there, its over 3500 lb
