Quick second hesitation running AC in traffic

I noticed today that my 95 SE hesitated a bit when I was in traffic with the AC on. It was only for a quick minute. Turned the AC off and the car was fine. Got on the highway and no problems. Anyone out there with a 95 Maxima experience the same issue?

If your describing a hesitation upon initial accelerator tip-in, say from a stop light, yes ... I've experienced that.

If this is what you're experiencing, I'd first do a cleaning of the MAF sensor.

If the symptom persists, I'd recommend replacing the IAT sensor.

If you still experience the symptom replacement of the MAF would then be my recommendation.

Check the engine idle speed with and without the a/c on. It should be the same, 700 for auto trans, 600 for manual trans.

Maybe you need to clean the throttle body and plate.

Engine idle without A/C on is good. Just had new MAF sensor put in about a year ago.

I get the quick hesitation during idle with A/C on. Once I move off it's fine.

Does your symptom occur regardless of engine operating temp? i.e. does it occur when the car's cold and when it's warmed up?

Also, will the symptom occur if the car has only idled (only allowed to warm up sitting in the driveway) or does it occur after the car has been road driven?

I'm thinking of a potential throttle position sensor issue.

My idle speed is a bit higher with the AC on, but the AC itself works perfect, always cold, with no problems.

The idle speed with the AC off is 700 rpm in P or N, and 650 or so in D. When the AC is on, it's usually 50-100 rpm higher.

Are you using NGK plugs?
