I think my trunk might be leaking

I think my trunk might be leaking and that would be a very bad thing (subs, amps and dvd player are in the trunk). There a lot of frozen water in there, and i've noticed before that there was wetness in there. Now i could have been that snow got in there from when i opened my trunk and snow slid down. But is there a good way to test for a water leak? How does one fix that? Anyone else experence this in their max's?

You could try pouring a hose on the top for a while and see if it is more wet than before

Start by checking the obvious areas water might enter like around the tailights, the weather stripping lining the perimeter of the trunk and the antenna. For the weather stripping you can use chalk and shade the entire perimeter. Then you can run the water hose over the entire trunk and open it up to see if the chalk has been washed away. I know you did the red/white tails not to long ago and maybe the water is entering from there. Just some suggestions.

Did you check the area where your spare is supposed to be? Nissan has actually drilled a hole in that area to drain any water that may be sitting in the spare tire well ... but they've provided a rubber plug that can seal up the hole ... I had that problem as well .. I couldn't figure out why my trunk was wet all the time ... it was the snow being kicked up in there while I was driving ...

good luck!
