95 nissan maxima

dedefinitely ditnetly needs some tlc but im just trying to make it run like a normal car. I only drive it around town..will only go around 35 to 40...45 if i coast it and get it going..if I hit gas pedal to hard or to much force it will jump idles and just keep raving from 2k rpm down to 1.5 or so and just keep doing this...like a bucking motion...if I drive it carefully likely on gas pedal it will drive ok and smooth for the first gear then to the 2nd gear...not totally sure if it's 2nd or 3rd its stuck in...today lifted the hood up and could hear a clicking noise from the engine..like a solenoid was stuck or flickering..i don't have the funds to replace part after part...when I unplugged the plug towards the back of the engine.. ( purple plug, maroon plug, and i unplugged the thicker grey one that sits between them). Clicking stopped...i got the rpms up to 3500 for first time in long time...after a minute or so it went back to bucking...please help!!!!

Those plugs sound like the connectors for the IACV.
