I just purchased a 2016 nissan maxima sv, ocean blue, I currently owned this vehicle for approximately 3 weeks, and the roof paint is chipping all over the place with rust, any suggestions.

Have you discussed this issue with the Nissan dealer you purchased the car from 3 weeks ago?

 

 

Paint is warrantied up to 3 years on most cars, I'm going to guess a 2016 you're out of that window by now. I can't find where Nissan specifically states paint warrantee in this document. But based on the rust you could try to get this claimed under the corrosion portion of the warranty. Page 4 (8 in the PDF) has an "assistance outside of warranty" hotline...call that, and see what they can do for you.

Because you bought it that way, it is out of your control that the pealing paint wasn't addressed earlier, therefore the corrosion may be something they would cover. Repainting a roof is only maybe $1000 at most, better then having a customer lawyer up...

This is very surprising to me. Are you sure the roof paint is original factory and not a repaint ? You call the paint color
ocean blue ? Nissan USA 2016 Maxima colors have no ocean blue. Could the blue be Deep Blue Pearl ?
