I have a 2012 maxima 3.5 SE. the gasket it says I need to use is not the correct size. Everything says it’s the right one but it isn’t.

the second photo has mine on the bottom and the factory one on top. Two different sizes.

 

That Oem piece is 7 years old and swells with age.. The new piece will fit... It the part number is coming up with that its the right one.

 

But the metal Part doesn't swell. I promise you this part will not fit. The size of the metal screen is also different. Plus this fits inside a gasket ring so it can’t swell.

I think we found the right part. But no one has it. In the process of special ordering it right now. Dealer told me it’s

so if this works I’ll update in case anyone else has issues. As it stands all the auto parts stores seem to be selling the wrong gasket.

 

OEM whenever possible.

 

found it - this is a dealer part for sure. damn thing looks exactly like the old one, almost got them mixed up. think it was a waste of money but at least its one part down that may be causing the idle and code issues.
