So I recently purchased a 1995 Nissan Maxima and it leaks oil in multiple places. It leaks from the bottom and also valve cover gasket. I'm not too concern about the valve cover gasket as most of the oil leaks from the bottom. I notice it leaks a few drops everyday. Also my power steering fluid is slightly low which makes me believe the pump has a leak. My question is would At 205 help mitigate these leaks? Also are there any other ways to mitigate these leaks without replacing parts?

 

Nope. AT-205 won't stop your leaks. I tried it before. Fix the valve cover leak. It will end up leaking on you exhaust and you will smell that burning oil smell. I had a PS leak also, but it wasn't the pump, just loose hose clamps. Your biggest leak is probably the upper oil pan. Just let that one go until the leak gets bad. It is a PITA to fix.

You need to fix the valve cover leak.

The front one is fairly easy.

The rear one can only be replaced if the upper intake manifold is removed first.

You need to know that certain parts like to fail on our engines. Several are located under that manifold.
It's best to service those while you are in there anyway.

Spark plugs, the rear fuel injectors, the egr tube likes to clog. Also check the knock sensor. Might as well clean the iacv and the throttle body. The nearly inaccessible coolant hoses should be replaced as well.

Of course you might say that I'm nuts.
