U0164 Lost communication with HVAC Control Module
U0164 Lost communication with HVAC Control Module
I pulled the code U0164 "Lost communication with HVAC Control Module". This has been an on again, off again issue for my 2010 Nissan Maxima, which usually seams to fix itself. Although now it is continually broken. The HVAC contol panel is unresponsive to control inputs, shows no light indicators and continues to blow hot air. I don't have any aftermarket parts that I installed. I have disconnected the battery for several minutes to attempt to "reset" the system without success, although when I did reconnect it, the fan blower motor didn't blow any air at all. The next day the system worked on one drive, then stopped working again and the fan blower motor stayed what appeared to be on the last setting, again unresponsive to control inputs and no light indications. I have also checked the fuses which all appear to be in good working order. After reading other forums, it appears the common discrepancy is the CAN bus, the HVAC relay, or the HVAC control module itself. If anyone has experienced this same issue and has a fix please let me know, any help would be greatly appreciated.
