Fuel rail to lower intake seal

I had a bad injector and decided to buy all new 6 injectors & seal kits. Purchased 6 hitachi injectors, and 6 beck-arnley 158-0957 seal kits. I'm about ready to assemble the injectors back into rail and rail back into lower int. when i notice that the rail-to-plenum seal are smaller in overall diameter compared to what was originally on there. My question is will the smaller o.d. seals to plenum work ( they fit the rail just fine but have a lot of play in lower intake and one of older one is shot..) or do i need the original size. Any help is appreciated. Thx

Is it the cushion rings from the picture? I've done a lot of injector jobs, but haven't run into smaller rings yet. You want to avoid the possibility of a vacuum leak. The injector o-rings pressing against the rail will keep any fuel from leaking. If you are uncomfortable, check with some local parts stores and see if theirs are the correct size. I've used OEM seals and some I bought at Rockauto through the years.

I bought the Fel-Pro ES 71045 6 Grommet kit for about $6 IIRC from RockAuto. Easily the equivalent of OEM. EDIT: RA has them for under $3 for 6 right now.

Bought the OEM top insulators from an online dealer (6) Nissan 16635-53J0A for a little over $2 each. Shop for best price delivered!

Fits like a GLOVE!

I never regret paying the right price and being done with it perfect.

Those are just spacers.

The rubber O rings are the actual seals.

I lost a couple of spacers when I did that project.

I took one to my local hardware store. I bought 6 new spacers of the same width and approximate diameter. They are nylon.

My repair was successful. I recall paying about 2 dollars for all six.

Yes CS_AR, those are what I am talking about. The ones in the beck arnley kit are smaller than those in your pics and what I had on lower intake originally. I was pressed for time and used what I had in kit. So far so good after about 75 miles its ok. No parts store in town even had another brand fuel injector o-ring kit in stock except one I found at Oriellys was a standard products (intermotor) kit and had one an equivelant to beck kit and one bigger than oem or your pic. At some point in future I will get oem ones or equivelent if i have any troubles. For reference, its about the size of a nickel-ish (stock, oem) to roughly the size of a dime of those in kit.

See, if those are what the fuel rail seals to the lower intake as in the pic by CS_AR , I couldnt tell by the pic on Rockauto. The looked like they could be a really enlarged pic of the o-ring for all i could tell.
