I have a 2011 Nissan Maxima SV with all the options it came with at the time. I have factory HID but want to get a different, aka cooler, headlamp housing but everything I find is for Halogen. The few HID housings I have found are 5 times the price of Halogen ones and look almost factory.

So my questions are, is there a reasonable or similar priced, cool headlamp housing out there for HID? If not is converting a Halogen housing to factory HID ok to do, easy to do, or just not a good idea at all?

If you have any websites, numbers, or anything please let me know. Any help is appreciated.

 

Sorry, but do you want a cooler (read not as warm) light output (e.g. 5000K or 6000K) or do you want a "cool looking" housing? If you have HID and want a less yellow and more white or even blue, just get the D2S bulb with the color output you want. No need to get a new housing just to change the color from warm to light to bright to blue.....

nice but yes indeed expensive. Hoping for something around the same price pr at least close to the same price is the Halogen housing units. They look nearly the same except the mount for the D2S bulb. It does not make sense to me why such an extreme difference
