Can the USB ports not read wav files?
I've had my maxima a little over a year and never really used the usb port(s) for anything other than Android auto. Today I loaded up a USB drive with some songs, and the only ones that the car would recognize were mp3 files. None of the wav files would show up. This seems weird to me, but maybe Nissans can't play wav files?
Supported formats are found in the Nissan Connect Navigation Manual. Below are the USB playable formats. Looks like no dice for .WAV files. There are plenty of free converters though.
MP3 *1 MPEG1 Layer-3 32, 44.1, 48 kHz 32-320 kbps
MPEG2 16, 22.05, 24 kHz 8-160 kbps
WMA *2 8, 11.025, 16 ,22.05, 32, 44.1, 48 kHz 12-192 kbps
AAC (MPEG4) *3 (Extension “m4a” only) 11.025, 16, 22.05, 32, 44.1, 48 kHz 8-320 kbps
