Part Interchangeability Between RS5F50V and RS5F50A Trans

Hey everyone, I have a question for you. I was wondering about the part interchangeability between the VLSD(RS5F50V) trans and the non locking (RS5F50A) trans in a 5 speed manual 4th gen. Obviously the differentials would be different but I was wondering about how similar the 1st-5th gears would be. I currently have a non locking trans and was picking up one with a locking differential that needs rebuilt. I was thinking worst case I can salvage some of the parts from the non locking trans along with a bearing rebuild kit to make a functioning 5 speed VLSD trans. Let me know what you think.

Figured it out. For anyone who was wondering all of the gears and internals are the same except for the differential itself and the non-clutch side case half.

Only the driver's side axle is different. Any 95-99 non-LSD 5MT will bolt right in.
