Has anyone put more soundproofing into your Maxima's? The car isn't loud on the road by any means compared to other normal cars but there are certain pavement types near me that I frequently drive over and it causes a lot of road noise. I wanna explore the option of having some more soundproofing done to minimize the road noise. I already got new tires that are quieter than the OEM ones.
Thing is I'm not the most mechanically inclined so I'd be having it done at a shop.
Where would you prioritize in order to quiet the road noise a little more? The door panels? The trunk? Wheel wells? I'm gonna try to avoid doing under the carpet as that's a pretty big lift and not worth the price and labor hours I would think. What about those supposed sound dampening thick floormats? Do those work at all?
Only concern would be maybe a quieter car leading me to notice more rattles in the dash haha
Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks!

You are on to something here. I started by pulling out my rear seat bottom and cutting to fit>> some carpet foam underlayment to the floor. Then replacing the seat. Mine is a lease car, otherwise, I'd have some sound deadener applied to the doors and trunk area. There are several products that self-stick like Fat mat. Not a hard job it you are patient .
Yeah I'm been researching more and talking to friends that have put Dynamat in their cars. I'm probably gonna start with doing the spare tire compartment first myself and then maybe under the backseat. Then I'll probably have someone do the doors. I'm keeping this car til the wheels fall off so I don't mind dropping a couple hundred to get it a little quieter.
I did high end audio for about 14 years and yes Dynamat is a good option but you can get any brand as long as it's the thin sticky rubber type material. Typically the most impact you'll have is anywhere that doesn't have anything at all. Door panels are a big one but in between the panel and inner door skin. Also rear wheel wells pick up a lot of road noise. The rear deck lid is also a good one.
I have these at the moment: https://tires.costco.com/Product?Ite...pect=45&rim=18
But I'll probably try another set of tires next go around just to see

Nice! Glad to hear. Did you notice much difference in road noise? Also, how much was it to sound dampen the doors and the deck lid? I'm getting quotes and kinda wanna see if they're reasonable. Thanks in advance!
I believe it was around 750. Noticed some mild reduction in road noise but was mainly for sound system. Doors sound so solid now when they close.
