Question Replaced car battery, fob not working

Ok, I did try searching and I found a lot of threads about replacing the fob battery, but that's not my issue...

I replaced the car battery, and now neither of my fobs are working. Is there some kind of programming I need to do? The car recognizes it in the key port and that will start the car but that's it.

Thanks!

Reprogramming the fob's window auto up/down feature is usually required but nothing else. Are you sure the new car battery is fully charged? It should be charged up on a charger not by the car.

It's a brand new Interstate battery I bought and put in. I did also notice the windows needing to be reprogrammed, I suspect the horn/beep to arm as well.

A brand new battery is rarely fully charged and these cars are sensitive to that and develop electrical issues.

So if I charge up my car's battery, the fobs should just start working again?

One fob not working, something wrong with fob. Both fobs not working after a car battery change, somethings wrong with the car and i bet it's a weak battery.

I don't disagree the problem is in the car/ECU or something and not suddenly both fobs. I'm just surprised that the brand new battery is less charged than the one that was nearly dead (before it died) and they were working fine. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't some programming or reset I needed to do if the battery/ECU was unpowered for a few hours. I can top off the battery and see if they start working...

Battery is fine, car is fine. Gonna be some sort of programming sequence to get them back online using the fob and start button, doors, buttons, blah blah blah.

I would first try putting both fobs near the RFID sensor INSIDE the car, maybe on the floor or on the dash directly underneath or above, then disconnect and reconnect the battery, then play with the buttons before spending any time searching for the programming sequence.

Basically reboot the ECU with the fobs INSIDE the car.

The remote functions are controlled by the remote keyless entry module in conjunction with the BCM. The remote module hardly goes bad, so I guess there's some issue in its link with the BCM. Hard to say. For the moment you could check for blown or damaged fuses in the fuse box under the dash as well as the fusible link in the battery area.

It works now!

I topped up the battery (just in case, the charger did say it was ~60%) and I made sure the fob was inside the cabin when I reattached it this time. So it was one, or both of those things...

Thanks for the help all!

So all you did was charge the battery as close to 100 as you can.. Clarify the car battery at twelve volt not the fob.
After this your fob started working?

I have a twenty seventeen maximum platinum. Earlier this week I left my after market lights on which drained my battery. Two near five volts. I charge the battery back up to twelve point nine car starts fine. Unfortunately. The fob number two is detected and the proximity features work.

I approach car cat log on lock car door without key. But I have lost all functionality of remote unlocked lock, panic button trunk release and remote start...

I'm under the impression if I charge my battery up to max capacity it should work again..

Is that what you're sayin

Appointment to have key reprogram for near two hundred bucks tomorrow.
Would rather buy a trickle charger for fifty.
