Check the seat tracks for any objects like an ink pen that may have been dropped between the seats and console.
raise the seat up far as possible 1st to get a clear view of the tracks.

Thank you for your response, actually the track is clear and nothing blocks the seat , it goes forwarder but doesnot go backward , which makes mw stuck to the driving wheel

The next step is to remove the driver's seat and check the motor and gears. Not a hard task but you may need help in the diagnosis once the seat is out. the switch could be bypassed to get the seat to move to back if that is the problem. Otherwise, I would look at the gear drive assembly. Make sure you have disconnected the battery as well as the connector for the seat airbag before attempting this.

I had a similar issue with my 2016 this summer. Last summer we had a week of consecutive 100degree days and my seat stopped working. Luckily for me it was already in my drivers position. I could not move my seat forward or backwards. Since I have the extended warranty premium package sold by Nissan I took it in. The dealer said it was the seat motor but that they don’t replace the motors they have to replace the seat. Cost $4000.00. Long story short I contacted Nissan Corp and told them the situation. And asked why they can’t fix it because I still had the warranty brochure that clearly indicated my seat motors were covered. They contacted the dealer and they agreed to look at it again. Ironically a few days later when the temp went down. My seat started working again. So I never took it back to the dealer but called Nissan corporate back and they said they have a record of the complaint and just call them if it happens again. But I think it could be a over heating issue. A buddy of mine has a 370z and experienced the same thing.

Thanks, Max Car. I think I would look for a wrecked Max car seat frame with all the parts. Not sure Omar has access to this locally though.

I had the same issue on my 2016 Maxima. I took the seat and tracks apart. Nothing was stuck. I put the seat back in. Forward and back did not work still. You can hear the motor clicking but nothing. There is a cable like a bike cable that runs from the motor to the other side of the seat. That cable seems oversize. I grabbed that cable and jiggled it while hitting the button and it started working. In the cable is a short square shaped shaft on both ends. The shaft sometimes disengages the mechanism that drives the track. Once you jiggle it the shaft pops back in and begins working. Try that before taking the seat apart. It worked for me. Good luck all.

We are having the same issue. It's not heat related...and this case the seat is stuck as far away from the steering wheel. Will try your 'jiggle' suggestion. Curious...how long ago did you fix your issue with this method and is it still working properly? Or something we might have to do periodically?

Just fixed it yesterday. Find the motor (front right corner next to the center console). There is a cable attached that goes to the opposite end to power the other track. You will have to feel for it but easy to do so. Jiggle on it close to the other side as you are pressing on the button. The shaft will then engage the mechanism and start working. Let us know if this works for you. The problem is in that cable. It is almost impossible for a coin to get stuck in those tracks. The cable runs behind the metal shaft.
