Replacement axle

So yesterday I noticed grease has been thrown around the back of my wheel, control arms, oil filter etc my inner boot on the passenger side axle has torn pretty bad. I have 159k on the car an looking into just replacing it. Wondering what replacement axles others have used an if they’ve all held up well. Oem prices are just too high unless aftermarket is junk. Info on the topic would be greatly helpful thanks

I have used cv axles from Cardone successfully on my family of Nissan cars. These are new not remanufactured. I buy them from either Amazon or rockauto which ever is cheaper. My latest install was passenger side 3 months ago and it is going on strong. No issues after 3000 miles.

Same situation here for me too, I have 156,000 miles on my Max and the passenger side axle inner boot is torn and throwing grease everywhere as well. I haven't repaired it yet because I too am up in the air with what reliable aftermarket axle to go wit. A lot of these aftermarket axles give these cars a vibration at high speeds.

okay sounds good, does it have the dampening thing in the middle like the oem axles do? Haven’t pulled the trigger yet just don’t want any vibration that would drive me nuts lol

Lol, yeah it may be a common issue with these cars once they hit a certain mileage. Keep us posted on what axle you decide to go with.

I searched around local pick n pulls, junk yards etc. I came across a 2014 maxima with 90k all oem parts still with rear end damage. I took the drivers side control arm, passenger control arm and axle and replaced it all parts cost me $100 and labor cost me $50 I did the control arms myself and I didn’t have the leverage to get the axle out of the bracket my guy had to use a air hammer to free the axle
from the bracket lol New England weather always seizing everything up. Car feels awesome again not afraid to go past 70 anymore. Took it up to 105 an it was smooth and straight again finally
