Car shuts off while driving. Help needed.

So I have 2009 Nissian Maxima, and for the second time my car has lost power and shut off. The VDC off and tire traction light comes on and boom its cuts on in mid traffic. I have replace the camshaft sensor & O2 Sensor. I read others and they said check the brake fluid and that is full to the max! What else could it be?? It runs fine all day and then boom the next day cuts off and I have to get towed or wait hours to finally drive. Help!!!

We could really use any diagnostic codes. What led you to replace those parts?

Well, if your air-fuel ratio sensor is not working at all, which results in the code P1148, then that is a major issue leading to you not being able to drive the car.

Have a read - https://www.troublecodes.net/p1codes/p1148/

TD is on.point. i would suspect the new O2 sensor. Either the wrong type or installed on the wrong location. Either way, bad things will happen if A/F isnt correct. It may also be a clogged cat. But start with the O2 swnsor, where did you install it, what brand and PN?

Thanks for replying back! I replaced the front O2 sensor and I purchased it at my local autozone.

I would also check the location. You stated you replaced the front one, but a p0301 is for bank 1, which is by the firewall if I remember correctly.

ok the code I got previously was P0031 for bank one.. So I should get P0301 instead? I also was advised to get the p1148 sensor too, for the close loop error code I got.

Also, wanted to add, there are 2 different part numbers for these sensors (4 if you consider the ones after the cats)
The OEM part number you want for the Bank1 (p0031) is 226931AA0B and is probably responsible for your p1148 as well. Get that replaced and then lets check codes and see if your car does any better.

Your scan tool indicates 5 errors but you only shared 3. What were the other codes?

OK, I order the Sensors they should be in this Tuesday. The codes I showed was the only ones that agent told me to take a picture of so he could check to see what the codes meant. I order a sensor for the p1148 which costed $179. should I hold off on that one and just get the P0031 Sensor for heater Bank 1

The 1148 is saying it cant talk to the O2 sensor causing the P0031. This is usually disconnected wire, bad sensor or WRONG O2 sensor. I dont know what other sensor you are referring to.

I just took it to the Shop and they told me to replace the ECM for $1400. Said the codes change everytime they check them. Is the a reasonable price for what he has to fix?

I suggest you find a new mechanic. ECM's don't go bad on this car. He's clueless.

i would get a second opinion. While 1400 for an ecm isnt bad, i highly doubt that is your issue.

They were my second opinion. Took it to Tripple A and they told me the didn’t know what it could be and to replace my Gear shift assembly. Something about the pin and how it doesn’t go into park or drive but that was a lie and they wanted $1100 to do that. But that wasn’t a problem. It only cuts off and the VDC off and Traction Light Comes On. It reduce speed and sooner or later cuts off. I hate that these shops isn’t truthful and honest about my car and it makes it no better than I am a female with no knowledge about cars

The cam sensors are what's killing it while you're driving.

How long have you had this car? Did you just get it and these issues popped up?

Four cam sensors and they're all the same part #. Stick with OEM for sensors. Nissanpartsdeal.com. Get a copy of the FSM and ID the sensors (bank 1 bank 2 "A" "B" etc)
