2011 Maxima Widow regulator repair

Been having issues with the drivers side window being slow and making noise when going up/down. Took the door panel apart and found the cable on the regulator (see pic).
A new regulator is like $170. I would like to repair it if possible. Has anyone tried replacing the cable on one of these? If so where did you get the cable from?
I just put everything back together without measuring the size of the cable. Anyone know what size the cable is?

Thanks

You can get a brand-new regulator from eBay for around $35 - $50 dollars, depending on the seller.

The one I am needing is the front driver side. Just my luck it is the most expensive one of the four doors. I had looked on e-bay and amazon. Cheapest that I found was actually on RockAuto.com for about $85 with shipping.

I am going to replace this with a new one, but I will try to repair the old one just for the heck of it.

Do you have any idea as to how the cable got frayed like that? Did your window ever get frozen closed? I'm just curious so I can possibly avoid having that happen to mine.
