Ok, so I have a 2005 Maxima and I'm chasing a P0444. I have tested Evap purge valve and closes and holds vacuum. But the canister vent valve remains open after ignition is on. I have tested the vent valve by using a ground on chassis and using the power lead from the harness with ignition on and it works fine and holds vacuum. I do not have a bi-directional scanner so I can't remotely close vent valve. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

 

Any update on this? I am having same issue. Starting to think it is the wiring connector.

 

Yes, mine ended up being a wire connection at the harness where you plug in.

 

Just grabbed one on Rockauto. That's an expensive connector. Thanks for the reply.
