Arrow Sad to say my 2019 Maxxima Platinum is gone.

We were involved in s serious front end collision. Air bags deployed from the dash and steering wheel and also the 2 knee/footwell air bags. Happy to report we only suffered some cuts and scrapes. The front doors also worked so we could easily exit the car. The car is totaled but the mighty Nissan came through protecting us so we could walk away! In fact prior to the accident, this may have been one of the best cars ever for me, and with only 49 K on the clock, it was a keeper. I had an new 1985, 2009, 2016 and this 2019, The problem now for me is what to replace it with. Nissan no longer has anything I want so I am looking at Lexus models.

Thanks to all of you for the conversations we have had over the years about these cars. I can attest to the safety of this well designed car. I hope you do not find this out 1st hand though

Regards,

Wow, glad to hear that you are all OK! Sorry about your car, it sacrificed itself to protect you but is replaceable.

Wow! Glad to hear you are ok. The Maxima did it's job and protected you two. Sorry for your loss of your beloved Maxima.

Which Lexus' are you considering? Consider tracking down a slightly used GSF if you're looking for a luxury performance sedan. If you want to float on a cloud and be blown away with all the creature comforts, consider a LS500.

I currently have 5 Lexus' in my stable. My wife and I are huge Lexus fans if you can't tell.

Thanks for the kind words. We are getting an NX350 s 2024 suv mainly to allow us to get in and out easier. Otherwise it would be an ES 350. Love the LS 500 but not the price.

Glad you are okay!! Saw an article the other day about the EV Maxima going into production in 2025. Maybe we will all reconvene in 5 years talking about our EV Maxima's. Until then the Acura TLX Type S would be my next choice if my 2017 SR were to meet a similar demise.

I hear ya about ease of getting in and out. I struggle getting in my wife's IS500 F-sport; low to the ground, low roofline and kinda cramped. Hope you enjoy the NX350
