Would you trust a junk yard fuel pump?

I recently bought a project Maxima. When I pumped out the stale fuel, I broke the fuel pump. If you miss with a hammer on the lock ring, expect to break something like I did. I'm not too keen on spending $300+ on a fuel pump when they are $29 at the junk yard. Is a junk yard fuel pump asking for trouble?

As long as you're able to replace the JY pump yourself if it craps out, I would say go for it
