The Closets Thing To High Intensity Discharge Headlights (HID)

What do you think is the closest bulb to HID? Not a rice bulb but one that puts out a good pure white hue (gives off a blue hue to the light spectrum).

I had a PIAA Superwhite in my Ninja and that sucker was bright!!!!

What about the cars????

In all honesty true HID have a blue or purplish tint to them but if your looking for a white light try the Sylvanias.

The Sylvania Cool Blues? I would never buy a Sylvania Light for a car....

It's like buying a GE television.... They sure make a great toaster though.

I like the HID's because they light up the road very very nice. My boy has them in his Acura RL.

I don't care about the blue, I just want to blind everybody

Then get a Hanabi true HID kit.

Naxos Xenon Blue... You won't see as well with them as with, say, Bluevisions, but they sure look gorgeous from the outside.. I'd post some pics but I don't have a digital camera.. A member named CustomMax posted some pics of them a long time ago..

Best bang for the buck HID look-a-like bulb that you CAN see the road with is in my opinion the JC Whitney Diamond Blue bulbs. And they match the PIAA 1157 Extreams PERFECTLY. I ran that setup for almost a year. Now I have the Hanabi HID kit.

you will never get the results you are looking for with a regular bulb. do you think that bmw, acura, etc would use expensive HIDs if some cheap bulbs were even close???

How about you not be rude and just use whatever you can see with. People don't like to be blinded, you know.

Go with the PIAA Xtreme white or Super white. You had a good experience on the motorcycle then why not try it on the car. I have the PIAA Xtreme white on my Max and enjoy the whiter/brighter light output.

No halogen bulbs in the market will or can compare to real HID. I have tried/tested many many kind of light bulbs. But I can say PIAA is one of the best for halogen that's why I sell them.

I got the sylvania cool blues for 19.95, they are a big improvement. Not blue at all, but they shine bright enough to see the road really well, and they appear bright white when you look at them. Whats the point in spending tons of dough on head lights so that people coming at you are blinded. Blinded = might hit you, Seems smart to me

If you go with any of those higher wattage bulbs you're gonna keep burning something (unless you upgrade your harness). I had to replace a socket every week when I was using them and got sick of it so I got the Hanabi HID kit and haven't had any problems since.

What do the PIAA 1157 Extremes look like? I need something really bright white, with maybe just a tiny bit of blue.. To match my Naxos headlights..

I got the Polarg M12, they are whiter than stock 1157's but still not white enough, you can still see some yellow with them.. Do you have pics of your car with the PIAA 1157 installed? Thanks

I'm not trying to argue or anything but PIAA makes a nice solid bulb... I still have the bulb from my bike ans it still works strong (2 years?).

I am going to get the Extreme next for my max. If they are brighter, I can only imagine what they are like...

If you add up all the $$$ you've spent on bulbs and are likely to spend looking for HID-like color/brightness, coupled with what you're likely to spend on an upgraded harness (maybe more), you probably could have a HID conversion kit and called it a day...

I dont think that real HID gives out a purpalish color the reason why we see that on BMW's is cuz the headlight is adjusting to level out that's why you would see it better if it went up a slope

HID is 600, PIAA is 70.... That's a 530 difference and the PIAA's are not a lot of cash.....

If you're going for Sylvania, why go coolblues when you can go with Silverstars?

You can get the HID kits for low/mid $400

Look here for a light bulb comparison I did:
http://www.bryanb.com/site/maxima/he...ts/lights.html

Nothing compares to HID, if they made a Hi-Lo kit for the 9004 I would buy HIDs.
