When to change spake plugs on Supercharged Maxima??

Hey guys its been a while since I've posted. My max has been running great now for a whole year with absolutely no problems!! Just curious about yalls opinion on when to change the platinum spark plugs on a force induction (i.e. turbo or SCed) engine such as mine. My shop suggested doing it every 30K with turbo and supercharged cars. What do yall think? Thanks

I think you should check the condition of your plugs much more often when running forced induction, or NOS, but not necessarily replace them. Pull one out and look at it. If it looks OK then put it back. If it looks bad then replace them. How often you check depends on how confident you are in the platinums holding up to the abuse, but every 20-30K miles is probably reasonable.

I would change mine every 30K. Make sure you use one step colder plugs.

Why would you want to use one step colder plugs? Wasn't Stillen's V2 SCer kit designed to run with the stock spark plugs? Will changing the plugs to one step colder decrease my gas mileage? What type of plugs are you running in your max Kev?

Using one step colder plugs shouldn't affect fuel economy. It's just an extra safety measure to prevent pre-ignition.

As Sly said, "It's just an extra safety measure to prevent pre-ignition." Since you live in Texas, weather gets really hot during the summer, increasing the chance of pre-det.

I'm running 2 step colder plugs. You shoul use this part number from Nissan (one step colder) PFR6B-11 (stock plugs are PFR5B-11)
