Blinkers and Hazards keep burning fuses!!!
I recently had an aftermarket CD player installed in my car (without the Bose system).
Right after the instillation, the hazards and blinkers did not work. When the fuses were looked at, they were burned out. When a new fuse was put it (for either the hazards of the turn signals), it burned out as soon as the hazards or right blinker was engaged. The left blinker does not burn out the fuse.
I took it to the car instillation place and they confirmed that it was a short somewhere near the fuse box and that it had nothing to do with the stereo install. I am not 100% sure he is correct.
Has anyone heard of something like this?
Thanks for any help

Might it be a different color? I saw a red wire that had an orange timt (but I suspect that it is the power wire).
Any other suggestions?

That's really quite odd. I'd suggest you take a good look at the hazard switch socket and plug and the wires going to it. I'd also suggest you get the blue Chilton manual and study the wiring diagram on page 6-133. I say your problem is really odd since the left and right turn signals are symmetric. It's difficult to see how you can have the problem with one side and not the other. Perhaps check the flasher unit (anybody know where it is?).
In any case, the wiring is really pretty straightforward. Power comes from the fuse panel to the hazard switch, then goes to the flasher unit. The turn signal switch and hazard switch can both hook the flasher output to the lights, which are all hooked together for the same side. From the lights the path then goes to ground.
Regarding the stereo wiring: does your head unit have line-level outs? Perhaps these should be fed to the rear amp instead of the speaker level outs? (I've got a Bose system, so I'm unfamiliar with the non-Bose setup; I'm assuming it's more standard.)
