Want to replace my 235/40/18 Nittos

I just got my new Giovanna Essens on 235/40/18ZR Nitto NT555 put on my Max. After 1 day of driving I notice the diffrence in ride with the lower profile tires from stock and I am not amused.

The new wheel/tire setup I have weights 55lbs about 5lbs more than stock 17", but I am no physics man I don't know how much of a diffrece that is in rotational force.

My question is I know that the recommended tire size for an 18" wheel on the Max is 235/40/18, but if I wanted to go 225/45/18 or 235/45/18 (45mm being the desired width) would that increase my ride comfort but also increase the load on the car?

It would change your speed reading. Do a search for miata on here and you will find the table for it, and how much it will affect. Yes with more sidewall it will increase ride comfort due to more dampening of bumps and such.

I've decided I will keep the nitto's for now I've gotten use to the ride and it's okay but not as good as stock I might change my mind though I don't like the feel of the ride at 60+mph feels like the tires are rolling too fast
