Bet You've Never Heard This One...

Alright Guys, I have a truely WEIRD problem and I want to share it with you all. I'm not even gonna try a search 'cause I'm pretty certain that no one has had this problem before. Here goes...
Whenever my max is on (as in running), I can hear a noise coming from under the dash-mabye from under the hood somewhere, that sounds like water/or a fluid moving around. You know the sound you hear when someone is toking a water-bong? That's the sound! (I'm not advocating smoking or anything like that, but this is the closest analogy I can describe) Crazy! I've never seen this or heard it from anyone else, or on any other vehicle. I do not hear the sound with the engine running, and the hood up, so I suspect it's coming from somewhere b/t the engine bay and the dash. My Dad has guessed that there may be some H2O trapped in/around the heater core, but we're truely baffled. If Anyone can offer any help as to what this is and how to alleviate it, I'd very much appreciate it! Thanks guys, Take Care

it's probably exactly what you said. sounds like there's air trapped in the cooling system on your car. it'll sound like a small waterfall inside the car, and hard to locate.

this is actually a fairly common problem on this car due to the way the system was designed. not a major one, but it's there nonetheless.

there's a bleeder screw on the top of your engine (on a VG, it's the "chrome" screw at the back of the intake manifold, just next to the PCV valve).

with the engine cold, start the car and then remove that screw.. leave it out until coolant starts coming out, then put it back in. should fix the problem.

actually. that exact thing happened to my car too, and quite honestly i cant remember what i did to fix it. I think my coolent may have been low i think.

but if you do what Matt said, and you take off that small nut on the intake manifold, when you put it back on NO NOT tighten it really tight, because the nut head acutally tore off when i went to put mine back on when i bled my system out. So the stem of that nut is now stuck in there.
