I'm looking for good pedal covers. My buddy Geoff (Nismo1989) has them and so does my cousin, as well as several of my friends. They make the pedals wider and slightly thicker. I'm like this:

.................................................
.................................................
'_____________''''''''_______
[____Brake____]___[__Gas__]
[________(***********)___]
[_______(***right foot**)___]
...................(***********)___]
.....................(**********)___]
.......................(*********)........
.......................(*********)........
.......................(*********)........

yeah i got pedal covers, i really think thats a must
any method preferred?
its good to learn in a straight line, then bring it to the turns
i just wanna be a better driver so ive decided to learn this, i know its mostly a race technique, but ive heard it saves on the clutch as well

Oh, that's all that is? I've been doing that for years...something I learned from my dad...guess I never knew the name. Oh well, I was raised on sports cars, and titles never were that important...

with my technique, i can't do it in my bro's 93 5sp...pedals are too darn far apart. but I do it a lot now in my gf's 93 Altima 5sp.
I learned how to do it here:

when i autox i use the heel toe to bring the back of the car around. . . .sometimes it's just easier to use the parking brake though. . .

dont hate ..you dont need to use heel-toe down shift tech, on a automatic.. there is just no point.

so dont be mean, he`s just confused on questioning that type of tech on a auto

Please, spare me...

If you just think about it for 2 seconds you should see that downshifting in an automatic... well, if you don't get it you have problems. How would it work in an automatic, well first you rip out your tranny. Then, you replace it with a 5spd. THEN you review this thread and all the links in it to other threads.

So, in street racing, is it actually viable? I do something similar, except I don't do brake/gas at the same time, but then again I just really race on streets out here in New England, where straightaways are almost non-existant

it really you keep up speed goin into turns and then comin out with a lot as well. really saves ur clutch too, especially when youre over 3k revs. even in a straight line it can be used, mostly or practice or whatever. ive heard its really useful with keepin traction thru a turn with rwd
