drop question
i may be getting sprint springs very soon. obviously, i don't want to keep my stock struts. i just did some researching on the board and found that i can get the KYB's for 186. would this be the best setup to go with for the best price/quality? i read that a couple people here have that combo, and they said it's help up for like 4 months and stuff, but i would like to know that it's gonna last for more than 4 months. it should handle a long time right? also, honestly i have no idea what camber correction is, but would this be needed also if i dropped my max with this combo? thanks.
Re: drop question
IMO KYB struts and Sprints are fine(others will differ in opinion), but they are the least expensive with Toks being the next choice. and yes, from my experience you will need a camber correction kit!

i ordered sprints, and i'm going to get tokico's to go with them. i'm pretty sure, or so i've heard, that the gr2's are just oem replacements, and so they probably won't hold up as well as performance ones.
to answer your other question, camber is the angle that the tire is at, when you look at it from either the front or the back. negative camber has the top of the tire angled down toward the car, and positive is the opposite. a little bit of negative camber is good, i think it helps traction during cornering. (the spec camber range is -1 to 0.5. mine are at -0.2 or so.) anyway, dropping a car increases negative camber, so tire wear and such is worse, so it needs to be fixed.
eibach has a camber kit on www.tirerack.com for $25, much cheaper than all the other ones i've seen. it adjusts + or -1 degree of camber. it should work with any spring/strut combo, i'm sure. CandiMan made some custom camber plates a little while back, i don't remember his website, it had the prices on it, but i think it was somewhere in the $200 range or so. and i think sprint makes their own camber kits, but i'm not sure of the price or where to get them. and i think they adjust the same amount as the eibach kit.
damn, that was long. hope that answered your questions.
