WHY DO SOME MAXIMA'S not have model on back? (SE, GLE, GXE?)

at first i thought it was something that only 95 maxima's didn't have but after seeing some thread that some dude posted about him buying a 98 maxima and not having model type on back, i want to know why some do and some don't? i've seen some 97-99 maxima's with GLE on the back and my friends black SE 97 has it on back, but mine doesn't and this guy doesnt...why do they do that? were our scustom built and half way they said, forget it, we'll just make it like an SE or something? I really only thought the 95's didn't have it but seems to be bigger than that

the only 4th gen models that i have seen with the model type on the backs are the GLEs (including mine )...i have seen any SEs or GXEs with them on the back, but then again, i haven't really looked too hard...it might just be nissan's way of defining the more luxurious one by putting the GLE on the back, i don't really know

For 4th gens ('95-'99), only '97-'99 GLEs got model trim badges.

Nah, 95s are the fastest, everyone knows that...

Plus, why would you want a badge?

Nissan just saved you the hassle of removing the badges yourself. Nice and clean - I don't need a badge to know what my car is.

I'm thinking of shaving my GLE badge but I'm not totally sure yet. 95s maybe the fastest but they don't look as good as the 97+ maxes

the 97 GLE's stocks aren't too bad...just kinda heavy...but the looks could definitely be better...but i don't got the $$, and i won't be keeping my max too long anyway

I couldn't agree w/ you more. Unfortunately they are my winter rims so they're still on. On one side of the car they look somewhat agressive, like they're digging into the road; on the other side they look cheap and like they are facing the wrong way. Damn saw blades. Can't wait to get my summer setup back on.
