Re: Burning RDS CDs

RDS is for Radio, CD-Text is for CD's. Only radio stations can broadcast RDS signals.

As for the CD's, use a burning software that supports CD-Text titling. I think the latest version of Nero and Easy CD has it.

What for? The Bose System in my 02 doesn't have CD-Text. All my CDs have CD-Text and I've not seen a single sign of CD-Text on the display of the unit.

I think he was just confused between RDS and CDT.

You are 100% correct. No CD Text on Bose.

Then why does my stereo say "no title" all the time?

You don't have the Bose System? All I know is my Bose system has RDS, but no CD-Text.

According to the manual, if you press the PTY button, it will show the CD-text. This is only on the double-DIN Bose (if you do NOT have the Nav), however. The single-DIN radio that comes with the Nav does not have CD-Text.

I haven't seen it in action... just read about it. And I think there was a post here about it working some time ago.

I burned a cd using Roxio Easy CD Creator 5.02 and my BOSE (non-nav) and it didn't display the name... Just says "No-Title"... And why would it say No-Title if it doesn't have CDT... That's ****ing irritating and dissapointing.

Not all software burns the CD text on there (and not all CD burners support that feature).

Try Nero... you can get it from www.ahead.de. When you create the CD, you have to specify the CD text option. It will tell you if your CD burner supports it or not.
